Welcome to the crustiest crust hostel in the centre of Krakow, with the lowest rates IN the entire city, a mere 5-minute walk from the Market Square and 10 minutes from the main train and bus station.

This traditional backpackers’ hostel has 28 beds, divided into dorms from 2 to 9 beds, from 30PLN to 60PLN (9€ to 18€) with shared bathroom and toilets. Internet and a computer are provided in the furnished, shared kitchen, equipped with a refrigerator, cordless teapot, stove, crockery and cutlery.

Don’t get scared by the building under construction that you have to cross to get to the front desk (open from 8am to 10pm)... "If you like building sites, this is the perfect place for you" quips our marketing manager and fellow guest Sheriff Allam. Do not bother asking for a room with a view; being a hostel though, Oasis has much more to offer.

A dozen backpackers stay on each floor, and all of them meet in the kitchen to cook their special dishes. You can smell the scent of exotic spices almost every night and hear everyone telling travel stories in German, Dutch, Spanish or French accents. In this kitchen too is an i-dock where you can plug your own ipod and dance to the music after a couple of vodkas - but please, only before 11pm! And yes, Oasis songs are welcome, even Don't Look Back In Anger.

That said, the one thing that matters the most in any hostel is the bathroom. Do you have to put flip flops to take a shower? Not this time: there may be only one bathroom for 12 people but everything is kept clean and shiny.

Once you're ready to go out, head straight to Old Town past the old fashion stores and the gyros, for there are no good clubs in the immediate surroundings of the hostel: even on a Saturday night, we found many of them empty... But once you see how busy the main square is, you won't regret staying in a more peaceful location.
