we have a guest speaker coming to Muddum who is involved in the G8 infotour,

part of a movement against the G8 summit.

He will be showing films and presenting actions that are currently being planned including a bike-ride from Budapest to the summit in Rostock (Germany) which will pass through the Czech Republic.

Who are we?

**There is  since quite a while a bigger international mobilization. One of the "dissent"-working groups is the "Infotour Collective". In this group are are a lot of different people with different political contents and also different political opinions involved.

**This group crosses all over europe to inform and discuss with people about critics about g8, history of summitprotest, what is prepared yet for the summit in germany this year, who is organizing, which groups plan what, which are the local  conflicts around Heiligendamm, what are police strategies, how is german police equipped, what are the Nazis planning against globalization (they do!), which campaigns are already started etc.

**And maybe you already got an impression about the very broad mobilization against the G8 meeting. for example:
 - the proposal to make a big alliance like Genoa Social Forum with  first big meeting yet;
 - and "dissent", which includes several groups of radical left, anarchists, antiautoritarian, environmental, antifascist etc.
 - There had been in August a 10 day preparation camp for the summit which was organized from groups of the radical left. 1.000 people participated. It is becoming clear now that radical left groups will focus on migration, global agriculture and antimilitarism as our own topics against G8.

What can we do (offer)?

The content of our possible presentations contain different focuses (will be adjusted for each audience), we can do for example:
- introduction to the global financestructure, neoliberalism and general stuff about the g8-meetings
- introduction into the history of the G8 summits and the protests against them as a power-point- presentation (ppt)
- introduction into the political and geographical situation and to the local players in heiligendamm, where the summit will be, overview of the stand of the german and international mobilisation against the g82007 (ppt. presentation) or the choreography of protest, how will be everything prepared
- we have got elements for a antig8-pub-quiz which fits in a open pub evening
- also we can do workshops with  popular-educacion elements, we could use for the presentation elements of popular educacion, so that people can discuss and exchange knowledge in between the group
Image- a film: Why close the G8? for giving a overview about why people are against g8
- at the end of each possible activity should be a discussion, sometimes some nice movies about previous protests against g8 or for the mobilisation
-an important part of the presentations will be the mobilisation and preparation of the "shake-g8-bikeride" which is a bicycle demonstration that goes from budapest/hungary through czech republik, slovakia, poland and north-eastern germoney to the summit in rostock/heiligendamm. the caravan will start 1th of april in budapest and plans to stay in different stations for few days and prepare with information lectures, screening of movies, direct action, clownsarmy, festivals, solipartys etc with local activists...

Imagewe would like to make contacts with people interested in the project that either want to take part in the caravane, prepare activities in their city or that can provide sleepingplaces when the caravan passes parts of this planet that are not so far from your living place....
Some more information for people preparing an activity with us

we do not know how many groups or people in your cities would be interested in that; and how many could be mobilized to come next year. But even if just a few people plan to go, maybe it would be nice to have the information about it. We will try to get e-mails of the people who are interested  in order to start to work on the process of invitation and visa procedures and start to think of possible fundraising for travel costs of people from other (mainly eastern) countries. It is important  to give to the interested people a clear information about the political background of the resistance against G8  in general, about  the dissent!-network and the autonomous/anarchist scene in germany.

we hope this helps you a bit. If you have some special demand, e.g. if you want to have a focus on special information or some part more stressed than another, just tell us.

technical point: we will carry a laptop and maybe also a beamer (is it easy to organize videobeamer in your city?).

we speak english, spanish and german and would need a translation from one of these languages in your prefered local language...

ok, sleepingplace for the night(s) of our stay would be nice, donations are great and always help the infotour to go on with their mobilisation (but are not obligatory...).

greetings MN. from the G8-Infotour
