Von Steiner ist ein Maniac des Digital Paintings – er schlägt die Brücke zwischen Warholscher Pop Art und japanischem New Pop amerikanischer Spielart. Dabei bedient er sich der elementarsten Kulturtechniken des 21. Jahrhunderts: Sampling, looping, editing. Seine Gedanken und Emotionen werden zu recyclingfähigem Material - er schwelgt im digitalen Albtraum aus schwül-warmen Teenagerfantasien und skurrilen Fetischen. Seine Werke erreichen damit eine Tiefe, die Chris von Steiner so zu einem außergewöhnlichen und einzigartigen Künstler machen. Er findet international Anerkennung, seine Digital Paintings werden in ganz Europa und den USA ausgestellt – so auch in der Galerie Strychnin.

Gallery Strychnin proudly presents the worldwide premiere of Chris von Steiner’s new digital paintings entitled: "Lost Boys of Dreamland Forest" on the 16th of March at 7 pm.Chris von Steiner is internationally known for his dicital paintings and dwarings. Visual artist and writer. Chris von Steiner was born in Austria, works and lives in Paris since 1990. He has published two novels in France and his most recent writing has been published in a collection called Userlands, edited by Dennis Cooper. His digital paintings and drawings have been shown internationally in such venues as the Strychnin Gallery in Europe and USA.
Von Steiner is a mastermind of digital paintings – he establishes ties between Andy Warhol Pop Art and the japanese New Pop with American varity. Thereby he utilises the most elementary cultural skills of the 21. century: sampling, looping, editing. His ideas and emotions become a recyclable material – he basks in a digital nightmare of homo erotic teenage fancies and bizzare fetishes. His art works achieve therewith a deepness, which makes Chris von Steiner a exceptional and unique artist.
The Gallery Strychnin, curated and owned by Yasha Young, is the first place in Berlin to present the exiting new art movement “Pop Surrealism“.
Chris von Steiner will be present from the 13th - 18th of March. You are cordially invited to attend the press meeting on Thursday the 15th from 1pm - 6pm 30min/publication + photo option in the Gallery Strychnin .
