Every August, hundreds of thousands of Euro kids make the pilgrimage to Budapest’s leafy Old-Buda Island for a musical gathering of Buddha-size proportions. Hailed as “the most colorful, biggest and cheapest festival in Central Europe”, Sziget hosts more than 1,000 performances, with this year’s line-up including main stage acts like Lilly Allen and The Offspring. What makes Sziget special is its wide range of entertainment that includes a World Music Stage, Rock Stage, Party Arena, art exhibitions, classical music, jazz, and even a stunning performance each night by Barcelona’s La Fura deis Baus which features a “macroshow” of dozens of spinning acrobats and a three story tower with giant wheel. Enough said.
