There’s lots of options for the dancing fool in dear Praha – the dub/reggae crowd has Akropolis and Cross Club, the crusty punks can pick a show almost any night at 007 or Modra Vopice, hiphoppers have fridays at 007 and now the indie kids can add another venue to their staple diet of pranceable bars – Starometska Jama on Saturdays.

There are few things in life that are without a doubt unadulterated fun...or at least they try to be. Dancing, for all it’s bad press, is one of those things. Sure, some will tell you it’s a way to get laid, a way to show off your prowess in a certain field or your disdain and hipness by abstaining from it. But when was the last time any of those people actually shut their over-analyzing mouths and danced? Fun – despite all our talking is sometimes in short supply round these parts. The scene grows old, the people get boring, talk is cheap and sometimes the beer is just not as free flowing as it should be on a hostel jockey or teacher’s salary. The solution to all these problems (and the pain of finding "sexy" Mexican DJs in Central Europe) lies in an Old Town dive – cheap beer (21 kc!), good music (of the indie/alter-native persuasion) playing til 3 am, foosball (to keep things lively), Kurosawa movies projected on the wall (for the visually oriented of us), people actin a fool (so you don’t feel alone), a come as you are attitude and yes, even a "sexy" Mexican DJ.
