Black Ships is the all-new 76-minute studio album from David Tibet’s Current 93. The long-awaited follow-up to 2001’s ‘Sleep Has His House’, this album features some very special guests, and will prove to be their most important release to date. It has taken David Tibet and Current 93 over four years to finish BLACK SHIPS ATE THE SKY, and it features beautiful work from some of his closest friends and collaborators as well as being Current 93’s most powerful and challenging recording so far.
Current 93 and its associated record label and publishing house, Durtro, have been one of the most influential and unpredictable groups to arise, creating a huge variety of music, artwork, paintings and books since their formation in 1984. David Tibet describes this new album as being “the closest I have come to picturing what I hope, and feel, and love, and fear.” |
