Supercool with David Koller
Phil Schoenfelt and Pavel Cingl.

Part of the evening will be an auction of paintings and objects, which are given by well known personalities of the cultural and art scene: Milan Cais, Marek Hunát, Katia Jiránková Levanti, David Koller, Popmuzeum, Phill Schoenfelt, Karel Schwarzenberg, and Martin Velišek.

The group Supercool (USA,CZ) appeared in Prague in 2001, when the Afroamerican bassman without hands and legs, Jefrey Marshall, met the two meters tall guitarist from Connecticut, Daniel Levanti, and began to hone a style which has yet to be described more soundly than “Alien music for earth people”, from the mouth of Jeffrey Marshall himself!

The group was finally completed in 2004 when drummer, Mr. Polansky declared, “My name is Vašek, and I am Supercool!” Simultaneously there appeared the first band comics “Supercool Stories”, by Katia Jiránková Levanti, and graphist M. Kajánek.

After they recorded in the Prague studio “Bič Boží” their debut album GREATEST HITS VOL. I, they left on a tour through France and Italy. In Czech the group has been silent for some time due to all Jeffrey’s bass guitars having been stolen from his Prague flat. Just afterwards they left for America where between a few concerts in New York and Nashville, they worked on their second album, which should be released in January 2007.

The most original aspect of their music is without doubts the combination of vocals, which don’t hesitate to approach the realm of risk. The depth of the lyrics can be felt even by  non-english speakers. In the emotional musical style of Supercool are the varied roots of rock, jazz, blues and soul.

The group is composed by Daniel Levanti (vocals, guitar), Jeffrey Marshall (vocals, bass, harmonica) and Václav Polansjký (drums).

The money which is earned from this evening we will give to Jeffrey and his guitars, which so much help him to combat his handicap.
