Provokátor: Do you feel you can still connect with the Facebook- and YouTube-driven generation?
Stereo MC's : Absolutely, we've been on myspace a while and it’s a great way to communicate with fans and make it real. P: And do you take inspiration from any current musical or visual performance groups? Do you find more inspiration inside or outside of your immediate artistic peers?
SMC: Outside our musical peers I guess if you mean people who have been around a while, more interested in whats happening now.
P: Have you played Prague before? What do you find here that you don't find anywhere else, as a musician?
SMC: Yes we have played in Prague before and it's a cool place. You know, every country has a different flavour; you can't pinpoint it, it's just in the air. P: What do you think of the current dance scene? How about the music scene in the Czech Republic? Are you familiar at all?
SMC: The dance scene is really great and strong at present and it was really helped by the digital online revolution.
P: You've produced for a lot of famous artists; who would be a dream artist for you to work with?
SMC: Santogold.
P: What type of music do you feel most associated with as your music encompasses a wide range of styles- eg trip hop, hip hop, electronica?
SMC: I think electronica encompasses a lot of what we are and love.
P: When you travel, what's the one thing you miss most from home? Could be something you can't buy, something you can't transport, etc.
SMC: Just walking down the street in our neighborhood chatting to the folk I see every day on the way to the studio, stopping off for my morning coffee... home is where my heart is!
P: Put yourself in the mind of an audience member on the front row of one of your concerts -- what is going through your mind from the first note of the show? SMC: Get on with it!!!
P: Our next issue’s theme is #32 Heroes & Villains. In your point of view, what constitutes a hero and a villain? SMC: A hero is anyone who fights for what is right on any level. An example of villain is corporate money chasers at the expense of others.
P: Who are your heroes? And why?
SMC: One is Bob Marley because his music spread and still does a message of hope love and unity across the world.
