Now in its 14th year, the Czech Republic’s most established rock festival promises to take on all your senses once again. Alongside the musical maestros, which this time includes sharp sounds of ace instrument-abusers Holy F*ck, Rock for People includes all manner of distractions.
If films are your thing then non-stop projections will entice you in, for the squared-eyed there’s video game contests and for the fashionistas there’s clothing galore (though let’s hope those raincoats aren’t needed). It really is the people’s festival including catering for clubbers, theater-goers and even those into extreme sports – don’t forget to pack your parachute! In 2000, Rock for People won the Czech Grammy Award for Best Event of the Year, an achievement that should be measured against which goes to show that sometimes corporate recognition does go to the right place.
