Burbuja

Day two of the Sperm Festival got under way with a great deal to live up to following the previous nights events and did not disappoint in anyway. Four live acts were featured at the La Fabrika Theatre; Semi Conductor, Ghostmother, Burbuja and Starcastic Djs. But where the previous nights acts used computer music and lights to stun the crowd, last nights performers provided more of a spectacle by using dancers, an Operatic performer and even a magician, amongst other things.

Provokators star performer of the evening though was Burbuja, who performed an act that most definitely took the audience away from the boredom of watching someone on stage messing around with a computer. With haunting melodies and a whispering singing voice, Burbuja took activities such as cooking and eating breakfast and used them as sound sources and for lyrical themes. Furthermore, her voice was often accompanied by an ensemble made up of ticking clocks, distant thunder and much more, mixed effortlessly together to provide both a visual and sound spectacle.
