What more does the avid punk fan need than a sunny summer's weekend crammed full of live acts? How about a festival that's grown out of its boots to a venue now sporting a swimming pool, easier traffic access and a capacity of up to nearly 10,000? Prague's Subculture Fest is moving to Džbán swimming pool this August for its fourth event in two years: a unique collection of punk, ska, reggae and psychobilly from across the globe.
There will be more bars and kiosks than you can shake a severed leg at, and a competition offering free beer for cleaning up your cups, to show fiends care about more than just punk music. Punk and ska, however, will remain the priority! The international line-up includes German psychobilly group Mad Sin, trombone master Rico Rodriguez and UK ska band The Hotknives, whilst the big name this year is punk legends, Misfits. Having been playing since 1977, with an influence on everyone from Marilyn Manson to Guns N'Roses, Misfits appearance as headliners at Subculture Fest, on August 2nd, will be their last European performance in 2008.
