The first weekend of November, Prague will host Eastern Europe’s first Psychobilly and Horror-Punk Fest, Moonlight Mayhem at Vagon Klub, Narodni 25. The two night fest, being put on by Bat Country Booking, will feature 14 bands from 8 countries. The selection of bands showcases different aspects of the Psychobilly and Horror Punk musical genres. The goal of Moonlight Mayhem is not just to present ghoulishly great music, but also to help the migration of major subculture music events east.
The fest kicks off Friday November 2 with an all-star Psychobilly line-up. Prague’s own Bad Tones will start the party, followed by The Silver Shine and Hollywood Suicide, both playing punk influenced psycho. The rest of the night is a who’s who in the history of Psychobilly: The Astro-Zombies, featuring Tomas from Kings of Nuthin on bass; The Death Valley Surfers, UK’s ultimate psycho-party band, returning to Prague; The Klingonz, legendary psycho-rockers from outer space; and Spellbound, an old school neo-rockabilly act that is all class.
Saturday night brings the horror on full force: The Shadowbirds, a mysterious, hockey mask wearing trio from Budapest; The Crimson Ghosts, bastard sons of the Zodiac killer slicing your soul with horror-metal; Bloodsucking Zombies from Outer Space, trying to reanimate the dead, rockin’ it psycho-gotha-horror-billy style; the ever-controversial Shadow Reichenstein, recruiting for the werewolf order; Green Monster, reverends of the Green Lord, internationally recognized Czech Psychobilly; The Spook, Germany’s campy horror punk pioneers; and The Deep Eynde, seething horror rock from L.A, fronted by the enigmatic Fate Fatal- this band is captivating performance art, grotesque and glamorous.
This fest promises to be an entertaining and groundbreaking event. Bands and fans alike are excited with the prospect of taking the Eastern European Psychobilly and Horror Punk scenes to the next level. With tickets going quickly, it is likely to sell out.

První víkend v listopadu bude pražský klub Vagon na Národní třídě hostit historicky první středo/východoevropský psychobilly a horror punk fest Moonlight Mayhem. Na dvounoční festival nasadila pořadatelská Bat Country Booking ukázku toho nejlepšího ze žánrů psychobilly a horror punk v podání hned 14 kapel z osmi zemí světa. Cílem Moonlight Mayhem není pouze představit ČR ďábelsky skvělou hudbu, ale i napomoci migraci celé této subkultury do středovýchodních končin Evropy.
Festival startuje v pátek 2. listopadu 2007 sestavou opravdových hvězd psychobilly scény. Večer načne pražská parta Bad Tones, následovaná psychopunkery The Silver Shine a Hollywood Suicide. Zbytek noci je vyhrazen výčtu legend psychobilly – The Astro Zombies (s Tomasem z King of Nuthin na postu basáka), The Death Valley Surfers (nepřekonatelné psycho party kapele z UK, vracející se do Prahy už podruhé), kultovním psycho rockerům The Klingonz z kosmu, a jako závěrečná tečka přijde oldshoool/neorockabilly v podání nepřehlédnutelných Spellbound.
Sobotní noc oživí horror v plné síle. Z temnoty noci povstane tajemné budapešťské trio v hokejových maskách The Shadowbirds, po kterých svým horror metalem rozsekají parchantí synové zabijáka Zodiaca The Crimson Ghosts vaši duši na kousky, aby rozhrabali půdu pro Bloodsucking Zombies from Outer Space, jenž se budou pokoušet znovuoživit mrtvé za pomoci psycho-gotha-horror-billy. Poté bude pódium patřit kontroverzní smečce Shadow Reichenstein, rekrutující dobrovolníky do svého Řádu vlkodlaka, kteří předají pomyslné žezlo českým psychobilly reverendům Zeleného Pána – Green Monster, po kterých se představí průkopníci německého horror punku The Spook. Jako poslední, smrtelná rána do vazu přijde tajemný Fate Fatal se svými nohsledy The Deep Eynde z dalekého L. A., kteří předvedou Vagónu energií kypící horror rock a podmanivou show s prvky glamu a grotesky.
Tento festival bude velmi zábavnou a průkopnickou událostí, kterou se kapely, stejně jako jejich příznivci, budou snažit pozvednout úroveň středo/východoevropské psychobilly a horror punkové scény. Pomalu začněte shánět lístky – pravděpodobně bude vyprodáno.
