Description : Prague Independent Music Collective : In the Service of Western Imperialists at Popo Café Petl is a musical sampler event organized by PIMC - Prague Independent Music [non-official] Collective - in partnership with Random Acts and Provokator.org Mapazine. A self established semi-scene born out of bars and park benches, around open mics, and pretty much anywhere they weren’t kicked out of for making noise The evening aims to promote Prague's musical mutation and their collective first release of local bands. The compilation, In the Service of Western Imperialists, produced by the PIMC is comprised of homespun, multi-national, anti-intelligent, folk, alt, indie-ish bands that have one thing in common- they love to cross reference. The closest genres one could compare them to would be the New York lo-fi, singer/songwriter Anti-folk movement. The compilation CD will be available at the event.
Popis : Pražská nezávislá hudební společnost: Ve službách západních imperialistů je zajímavá hudební akce, organizovaná PIMC - Pražskou nezávislou hudební [neoficiální] společností - ve spolupráci s Random Acts a časopisem Provokator.org. Jde o hudební polo-scénu, která vznikla mezi muzikanty hrajícími po barech, parcích a vlastně všude,kde nevadilo, že dělají rámus. Večer má za cíl propagovat hudební kreativitu v Praze. Půjde o první představení této hudební společnosti skrz koncert předních místních kapel. Kompilace Ve službách západních imperialistů, produkovaná PIMC se skládá z domácích, multinárodnostních, anti-sofistikovaných, indie kapel, které mají jedno společné - nerespektují žánrová zařazení. Snad jedině new-yorské „lo-fi“ spolek anti-folkových hudebníků a skladatelů, by mohlo být blízko žánrovému zařazení. CD s touto kompilací bude k dostání na akci.
THE BENEFIT: Provokator.org is and has been like an annoying yet endearing little hermaphrodite sibling to all you who pick us up, use us and then point out all the hilarious mistakes. We have given English based periodicals in Prague a jog for their money – all the while not actually having any (i.e. there fore we are almost entirely run by contributors, interns and volunteers). The plan was and still is to support the Prague and internationals community and to allow an easier integration for newcomers while not boring the old guard to tears. The plan also includes supporting independently minded businesses and off-the-radar happenings, as well as interesting more mainstream events. Like a kid growing too fast – we’re expanding to accommodate our grandiosity (or delusions of grandeur) and would kindly request your presence and support for this event. The performers have graciously given us their time and now all we ask for is your money. Provokator.org t-shirts, and various merchandise will be available (t-shirts 200 czk)! We hope to see you there! And don’t forget your wallet and sense of community guilt!
BENEFICE: Provokátor.org je a byl jako otravný a zároveň roztomilý malý hermafroditní sourozenec Vás všech, kdo nám pomáhá nahoru, čte nás a pak nás upozorňuje na všechny chyby. Pustili jsme do Prahy anglicky psané periodiky xxxxxxxxxxxxx - které jsme celou dobu vlastně neměli (proto fungujeme pomocí přispěvatelů, brigádníků a dobrovolníků)
Plán byl a stále je podporovat pražskou a mezinárodní komunitu a pomoci k snadnější integraci nově příchozích a zároveň nenudit starou gardu k smrti. V plánu také máme podporovat nezávisle smýšlející podnikatele a anti-radarové happeningy, stejně tak jako více main-streamové akce.
Jako dítě, rostoucí příliš rychle - expandujeme, abychom podpořili naší grandióznost (nebo iluzi velikosti) a přátelsky Vás prosíme abyste přišli a podpořili tuto akci.
Účinkující nám laskavě dali svůj čas, takže jediné o co teď žádáme jsou Vaše peníze.

Zeroking is a 3 person indie rock band in the same vein as the brit rock new spirit incarnated by bands such as Groundaddy. Its minimalist structure - guitar, bass and drum combo provides a trickless wild sound.
"Children thrust into the world without cheat codes"
The Sads are the heirs of the Dandy Warhols. The sweet acoustic ballads follow psychedelic electric songs in which sound effects invite us in their own acid world. Kind of romantic, Steven Rusling's thin voice bewitches whereas Marc Cram's second voice adds an ethereal effect. The Sads are a wistful but not entirely depressed.
"Super Imperfect & Live", here’s the perfect formula to showcase the touching frailty of the piano-vocalist Flanna S. You can feel the non-scientific equation, while listening the "Fire" song. Whereas "Nothing to Say" sounds closer to a nursery rhyme in which Norah Jones sweetness meets the Kate Nash universe.
He used to do theatre, dada and improv in Atlanta at a place called Dad's Garage. Now he is in Prague doing music with a Tom Waits' Plaguarists' Society called Blue Valentines, and it’s original and unique step sister The Trunk Show. Chudaček is a slightly different band which features his original material and a tasty selection of jump/mud blues. He is also the guitarist for death/folk uber-legends The Czech'sass Taintsaw Massacre. And he'd like to sell you a car!

Ken Nash is an artist/humorist/ok guy. Ken's cartoon and illustration work has appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers throughout the world. He divides his time between USA and Prague. Ken is highly combustible and should be kept away from open flames.
