Tarak de Haïdouks @ Palac Akropolis / 21:00

If Arcade Fire had been listening to Gipsy Queens instead of Queen Bitch, they would be Taraf de Haïdouks. Discoverd in 1991 by two belgian music fans traveling Eastern Europe, they became german critics'protégés a couple of months later  and soon reached the top slot in the charts with their unique debut album, "Musique des Tsiganes de Roumanie". One can wonder how a Romanian Gipsy Supergroup managed to achieve worldwide stardom, but everyone will find an answer in their heart-breaking ballads and vibrant concerts.

ImageA Wilhelm Scream @  Rock Café / 21:00

Post-hardcore quintet A Wilhelm Scream formed in New Bedford, MA, in the mid-'90s. Playing gritty punk rock in the same vein as Hot Water Music and Propagandhi, the group has since toured all over the country with the likes of Rise Against, Pennywise, the Lawrence Arms, Less Than Jake, and Strung Out. They made a career out of songs called "The King Is Dead" or the  "Less Bright Eyes, More Deicide", an exhibition of clever-clever malice Morrissey would have been proud of. There's more to life than A Wilhelm Scream, but not much more. Belle & Sebastian fans also welcome.

The Prague/Pilsen based band Kadé Chim does not play klezmer despite the name. ImageGlenn Hughes @ Retro Music Hall / 20:00

You may not know the name of Glenn Hughes but you're certainly familiar with his music - he was the bassist of Deep Purple (the one who wasn't Roger Glover), Black Sabbath's lead singer (the one who is not Ozzie Osbourne), and most surprisingly, the backvocals on KLF's single "What time is love" (but he probably doesn't remember that). After he got rid of his drugs addiction in the begining of the 90's, he released a convincing string of solo albums including 1991's brillant Hughes/Thrall, and then later returned to form by teaming up with Joe Lynn Turner, who was (coincidentally) to Deep Purple what Glenn himself was to Black Sabbath : the lead singer of their worst album. But that's history! And hopefully, Glenn won't cover any of his old Black Sabbath songs tonight...
