Castanets (Asthmatic Kitty) @ Skutecnost

From Blue Valentines last week to Nick Cave next Saturday, Tom Waits seems to be the hippest musician in Prague right now : you can also add Castanets to the list of his most inspired students, specially on their latest album, the brooding and bittersweet In The Vines. Tonight, they're also the

representatives of Asthmatic Kitty, Sufjan Steven's famous record label.Image

Pissed Jeans @ Klub 007 / 20:00

Is it relevant to talk about a "working class band" when it comes from America ? Has Jack White ever called The Strokes "Middle Class Wankers" ? Pissed Jeans'songs, however are full of tales of sexual frustration, dead-end jobs and pram-pushing teenagers. Although they're not as anthemic as Steve Albini produced The Living Things, those who think what the world needs now is a "Slack Motherfucker" will love them.

Chris Saddler @ Roxy / 21:00

Jarvis Cocker is without any doubt Nottingham's most respected musician, but when it comes to electro, Chris Sadler could the town's best DJ. was first introduced to dance music through regular trips to Cream, Club U.K., and Atomic Jam. It wasn't long before he bought a pair of cheap decks and a mixer and spent his time when he wasn't out clubbing, holed up in his bedroom honing his DJing.
He made his first public appearance at Liverpool's Baa Bar in 1992 and, during his years at University, chalked up some experience playing occasionally at house parties, bars and clubs in Wolverhampton and Liverpool including infamous promoter Charlie Chester's now defunct Eden. Also during this time Chris started promoting Recycle - a small but popular Friday nighter in a function room above a Wolverhampton pub. In 1996, having left University with an honours degree in Biomedicine, Chris decided to move to Prague in search of the Bohemian lifestyle and DJing experience.

Dino Jr. @ Palac Akropolis / 20:30

20 years ago, US Indie music was a school full of bad pupils, but Dino Jr were at the top of the class. Thanks to J. Mascis' heartfelt touch, they single-handedly made guitar solos cool again back when they were Poison or Motley Crue's vice. In 1987, Dinosaur Jr surprised everyone from Sonic Youth to then-teenagers Kurt Cobain and Stephen Malkmus at the release of their second album, You're Living All Over Me, a menacing cult classic as visceral as The Stooges and as wistful as Neil Young. You're Living All Over Me still sounds as an OVNI to this day, even after Pavement's Slanted & Enchanted, even after Dino Jr's own brilliant following albums, like the tuneful and poignant Green Mind. The band in its original form broke up in 1989. But in 2005, Mascis and Barlow announced the original band would be reuniting for a short tour around the world...

Anihilation Time @ Klub 007

Southern California's Annihilation Time was formed in 2001, and spent much of the following year honing their hybrid hard rock/hardcore style by playing parties and switching instruments. Finally, after settling on a lineup featuring vocalist Fred Hammer, lead guitarist Graham Clise, rhythm guitarist Jamie Sanitate, bassist Chris Grande, and drummer Tony Melino, they recorded an eponymous debut later that year. But additional shake-ups would bring new singer Jimmy Rose and rhythm guitarist Shaun Filly into the fold before their next release, a 2003 EP they named Bad Reputation after the Thin Lizzy classic covered inside. They released Annihilation Time in on the Manic Ride label in 2004, and its follow-up, Annihilation Time II, in 2005. (allmusic)

Fatal Shore @ Rock Café

The Fatal Shore is a Berlin-based band formed in 1996, by the getting together of two unique but complimentary Singer/songwriters - Phil Shoenfelt and Bruno Adams - for a hectic tour of war-ravaged Bosnia- Herzegovina. While en-route to Gorazde, they came under fire from Serbian snipers and were attacked by axe wielding mujahadeen in delnice. Under the motto, “what doesn’t killer you makes you stronger” they expanded the partnership into a full band with the adding of Chris Hughes on drums, and later, bass player Yoyo Röhm in 2001.

The Offenders @ Klub 007

Italian style meets British 2tone ! This slogan was chosen at the beginning of the band’s career and still be without doubts their best presentation. The band born in October 2005 , after few months they realised the first promo “ included the anthem Rudeboys in a dance floor*first version*” and then they started to play in many clubs and festival for all the year. At the end of 2006 the band was in the recording studio to realise the first album...after few months , the first single “ Hooligan reggae” was burning on all the dance floors of their city , and the Offenders’s fame grow up really quickly!
