FIM Grand Prix @ Brno / 19h00

The Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Before 1993, the race was known as the Czechoslovakian motorcycle Grand Prix. Since 1965 the race is a part of World Grand Prix serie (between 1982 and 1987 race was held as a part of European Grand Prix serie only).
Since 1987 the race is held on the newly built Masaryk Circuit, the historical track led through the streets of western parts of Brno and neighbouring villages, such as Bosonohy and Žebětín. Previou champions include Casey Stoner, Loris Capirossi and Valentino Rossi.

The Misfits @ Subculture Festival / 21:00

Genuinely shocking or tasteless, campy fun? It was sometimes hard to tell which way the Misfits wanted to be taken, and the immense cult following that has grown up in the years after their actual existence (1977-1983) seems divided in its own assessment. It certainly wasn't the Misfits' musicianship -- which was as crude as the recording quality of most of their oeuvre -- that endeared them to so many, although Glenn Danzig possessed one of the most distinctive and tuneful bellows in hardcore punk. Rather, it was Danzig's penchant for catchy, anthemic melodies, often delivered at warp speed, and his lyrical obsession with grade-B horror films and splatter imagery that helped the Misfits build a rabid posthumous following.

Funny how Hollywood directors try to make you think bands like Abba were cool before you were born. Well, in case the teaser made you wonder, no, Abba's always been two songs close  from being the worst band of all time (Dancing Queen and Waterloo), and even though they're the best selling band of history, even though your girlfriend thinks she likes them, trust me, no one has ever been able to listen to just one of their albums in full, not even Arrival. It didn't happen back then, and it's not going to happen now. And whoever thought their lyrics were worth writing a movie is a  retarded. What's next, a movie based on the Spice Girls ? A U2 Cover of Dancing Queen ?

(PS : if my neighbours read this preview, could they please stop singing this stupid song whenever they come back home drunk in the middle of the night ?)
