Risen @ Jet Club / 20:00

"D.I.Y. Hardcore - Remember that? Its about having something to say, having passion, conviction and heart. Its not about bullshit like fashion or popularity."

RISEN is a vegan straight edge band: all members of the band live a vegan/ drug-free lifestyle for a variety of reasons. A band that has things to say and that is interested in promoting a hardcore scene that gives a shit about the state of the world today, from issues of veganism/ animal rights to political and gender issues, to living a drug-free lifestyle... They believe there is plenty of room in hardcore for critical thinking, progression and fun all at the same time. Not from London, obviously.

Akropolis Multimediale @ Palac Akropolis / 21:00

The Akropolismultimediale festival 2008 is focused on interconnection and fusion of new media and electronic music. Basically, it is an "indoor" showcase of new trends in the audiovisual scene, presenting A/V projects (concerts, theatre, film, A/V installation). The accent is put on young artists mainly from the Czech Republic, who are accompanied by their "colleagues" from European countries. 2008 is going to be the fourth year of this festival already.

In the previous years, they were pleased to present ZEN TV and Hexstatic as headliners. This time, they are going to invite real kings of the audiovisual scene – British A/V producers & artists Addictive TV, who will bring their fascinating show to the Czech Republic for the first time ever. Focusing on music, arts and technology, they are known for their cutting edge audio/video remixes and dynamic live shows.

Complete Failure @ Rock Cafe / 19:30

With a sound influenced by A Wilhelm Scream, Belvedere, and Strung Out, High Five Drive has built a strong following from the ground up with relentless touring across Canada and Europe, local radio play and four international releases. Seeing High Five Drive on stage is a life-changing experience in and of itself. Known for their super-charged, disregard-for-personal-safety, high-intensity live shows, High Five Drive has had shared the stage with The Mad Caddies, Comeback Kid, Slick Shoes, Protest the Hero and Satanic Surfers to name a few.

Silverstein @ Lucerna / 21:00

Silverstein formed in Ontario, Canada, in 2000 as a side project for vocalist Shane Told, guitarist Josh Bradford, drummer Paul Koehler, guitarist Richard McWalter, and bassist Bill Hamilton. But after diving into the thriving Ontario hardcore/emo scene, which also included bands like Moneen and Grade, Silverstein soon found an audience for their particular brand of shimmering, hot-blooded post-hardcore. Their 2000 self-released EP Summer's Stellar Gaze was quite well received, and soon Silverstein became the full-time project of its members. (allmusic)

Cancer Bats @ Klub 007  / 19:30

The Cancer Bats have come to destroy. Fueled by a burning desire to rage harder, play louder and have more fun than any other band, Cancer Bats mix hardcore, southern metal, and punk rock into a lethal rock and roll explosion. The band originated in May of 2004 with singer Liam Cormier and guitarist Scott Middleton, former member of Toronto metal band At The Mercy Of Inspiration. The two wanted to form a project that combined their favorite parts of bands like Refused, Black Flag, Led Zeppelin and Down, among others. The line-up was rounded out with the addition of Andrew

Lipless Lincoln And The Sinners @ Jet Club / 20:00

With friends like Marcel Duchamp or Mahatma Gandhi on their myspace , Lipless Lincoln & The Sinners are one of the Czech bands that are the most likely to be on the cover of Artrocker's cover by the end of the year. Their influences are impressive, including everyone from Television to Les Savy Fav. Certainly, they have spent a lot of time listening to rock music. Guys, if you don't release the outstanding debut album we expect, maybe you could still work for Provokator as rock critics ?
