This Friday and Saturday, Cafe Rybanaruby brings you 'In the Penal Colony' , the story by Franz Kafka, stage adaptation and performance by Rich Gold.
The Penal Colony, Kafka's bizarre parody of the pervertedpowerful satirizes the psychic set of leader and led. The Officer loves his machine designed by the dead former commandant. A supreme work of art, the machine writes into the condemned man's body his sentence unto death.
Actor/producer/director Rich Gold has worked in the theatrefor over thirty years and has been involved in 3 other Kafka adaptations: his one man show Report To An Academy, A Hunger Artist, and the Prague based Black Box Theatre production of The Trial.
He trained with the Theatre of All Possibilities International touring company.
