ImageI am a rogue
for I have stolen pieces of your flesh
        to satisfy my hunger
Cannabalized an innocent
because I have never really believed
        that beauty casts reflections

Blind and shameless poet that I am
    I can always see
        or feel
            or remember beauty
Your scent hangs heavy on my skin

I have have touched you
    or so you say
        and left indelible fingerprints
            upon your rhythmic flesh
But I have always
    spoken in ink
        of beauty
and have stained the hearts of many
    with my hands
        and serpent tongue

I have always devoured moments and images
    like warm flesh
        from small mammals

And time has done nothing
to relieve me of my longing for the freeedom of control
        - nor the guilt I have amassed

So let me say this now
    and please believe
        that I am not deserving
I am a rogue
    and someday you'll agree
