ImageIn an effort to rejuvinate English-language theatre in Prague, The Prague Post is launching what will become an annual theater event.  The Prague Post Playwriting Contest, which will feature an elite panel of judges that include former United Artists President Norbert Auerbach and Samuel Beckett collaborator and co-author, Barbara Bray.

It is hoped that this competition will inspire a new wave of creativity in the Czech theater community, showcasing  the prodigious talents of Czech and expat writers in the Czech Republic.

 

Submission Rules:

•     Open to all current and former residents of the Czech Republic
•     Scripts must not exceed 20 pages
•     Scripts must be submitted in English
•     Please submit only new works, or works never performed in Prague
•     The top three scripts will be performed in Prague
•     Scripts must be received no later than December 15, 2006
•     A cash prize of 20,000 CZK will be awarded for the best script
•     Writers may submit as many scripts as they like
•     Scripts submitted in hard copy will not be returned

      selecting winners. The fewer, the better
•     Scripts may be submmitted in hard copy or electronically
•     Scripts submitted electronically must be in Word format or as a PDF file
